"Being a parent wasn't just about bearing a child. It was about bearing witness to its life.”
― Jodi Picoult
I think the title of this blog basically explains the aspect of my life, and of motherhood. It is truly amazing the joy and happiness one sweet little face can bring to you, on the worst days in the midst of all the poopy diapers and puke they can muster. Til this day, I am still dumbfounded on how something so small can make such a mess in so little time.
This is my first post and I hope many more to come about life. I have started about 5 blogs and I feel that none of them were about the right topics. I tried one about baking - never found the time to whip up those muffins with a toddler at my feet. Another was about my job - all I can say was that was a VERY short blog. And my last was about life of being a working mother, but I got side tracked and never seem to wrote. So THIS is my fresh start to that - I hope its up to your expectations!
To give you some insight about myself, my name is Sarah. I am a 21 year old receptionist who is a mother to a beautiful baby girl named Zoey. She is 17 1/2 months old and is the love of my life. Her father (my boyfriend) has been with me since I was 15. We currently live together in an apartment, while I find the way to rebuild a home we inherited within the time my lease is up...which is in six weeks...and I still don't have working electricity or walls...you do the math.
I strongly believe that God only gives us what we can handle. He wouldn't throw the obstacles in our way if he thought we weren't up for the challenge. I believe in having faith in things that you cannot see, and waking up every day with the optimism that today will be a great day no matter what happens. It makes the problems melt away, and helps the stress levels come down a bit.
Now, there are a lot of aspects of being a mother; especially a younger one like myself who works full time to support a family and is still trying to figure out my purpose in life while raising another little life. As you can tell, I have some free time at work (OK, maybe A LOT of free time) so I am always looking up things I have questions on about my life. My google searches always consist of things like "best way to lose weight after pregnancy" or "dealing with my my cranky boyfriend" or even "what does green baby poop mean?". Usually I find the answers to my questions, and sometimes I don't. I wanted a blog where complicated questions COULD be answered.
I have decided to blog about life, the good and the bad. About the love, arguments, work, exhaustion, and day to day troubles that come with the happiness and excitement that being a parent brings. I hope to help make some persons day a little bit brighter, and maybe answer a question along the way. For whatever reason it may be, I hope you enjoy what I have to say, and maybe it will help you too.
